Biography
Ethan Dawe grew up in the convenience store industry where his family owned a small chain of convenience stores. He started a wholesale company with his brother Adam in 1993. After building this business over several years they sold to a large competitor. Through the years Ethan has invested in almost every type of opportunity that is available from traditional investments to raw land and rental properties including a mobile home park.
In 1996 his father, Darryl Dawe, passed away leaving behind a sizable estate and very poor estate planning. Over the following nine months the family went through the unfortunate experience of settling up with the IRS and paying a large amount of estate taxes.
It was at this point that Ethan began researching what could be done differently to protect his family from more than half of what he created in his lifetime being taken by the federal government upon his death.
The education and life experiences that Ethan has been afforded have helped create a unique process to help his clients measure the efficiency of every financial decision they make. His goal for his clients is to educate them on the common wealth transfers and create a specific plan to help them accumulate and distribute their retirement savings in a tax efficient manner.
Ethan has financial articles published periodically in the leading Jewish newspaper in New Jersey, The Jewish State. He is a preferred speaker at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine – Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA). In addition, Ethan has worked with the VBMA and staff at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to create a new business and financial management course titled, Preparing for Your Financial Future. This course will start in the Fall semester of 2009.
Ethan has been married for 10 years to his wife Mirinda. Together they have three beautiful children – Myrick, Lance and Drew. They reside in Mobile, Alabama.
